That's how my Wednesday went just like the title goes.

Met up with Peh at Dhoby Ghaut at 1.30pm supposedly but both of us were slightly late and we reached at around the same time even though she took MRT but I took bus.

Made our way down to Tanglin Road to try Boufe Cafe but after walking a few rounds, we still couldn't find the place and the rain isn't helping too. Tired and hungry, we decided to dine at Spruce because it's one of the little food choices available at Phoenix Park.

320 Tanglin Road, Singapore 247980

It was pretty empty when we reached around 3pm, probably because it's the non-peak hour and also partly because of the rain.

Managed to get a table at the corner of the restaurant and we placed our orders pretty soon after getting seated.

Drinks were served first, around 5minutes after we ordered but the food probably took another 15-20minutes or so but they were all served at a go.

Peh had the Caramel Latte while I had the Spruce Homemade Lemonade.

Caramel Latte, $7!

Slightly bitter but still not bad with really fragrant coffee smell.

Homemade Lemonade, $6!

The BEST lemonade I ever had, not kidding! More towards the sour side but really addictive, love it so much!

Our mains came around 15mins after the drinks arrived with a side that we ordered to share.

Picture of our late brunch before we started eating!

 Mac & Cheese, $10.

This is the side that we got to share which was served in a pretty large portion surprisingly. Very generous with the amount of cheese powder on top of the dish. Very creamy overall but would be better if it's slightly more flavourful as I find the macaroni a little too bland in taste although it was quite creamy.

We actually shared our mains as well!

Spruce Burger, $18.

It's a burger with homemade beef patty, melted cheddar cheese, onion, lettuce, mayo and mustard, accompanied with herb fries. I found the fries really yummy, very flavourful! Also crispy on the outside while soft on the inside, not a fan of fries but I really like it.

Had the beef patty to be medium done so it was slightly tough and a little dry but the yummy buttered bread, cheese and sauces made up for it! Overall, it's worth a try! So yummy and filling!

Poached Salmon, $29.

Comes with season’s vegetables, balsamic, lemon butter sauce, pesto sauce! One of the best cooked salmon that I've tried and Peh agrees too!

The vegetables were well cooked as well, juicy and delicious but the salmon steak was really the best. Skin was crispy while the flesh was so tender and jucy, so well done!

Totally worth the money paid!

Stayed there and chatted for 2hrs or so including having our meals because there weren't any other customers and it was still drizzling so we stayed!

Bill was $82.39 for all of the above, inclusive of GST and service charges! Slightly more expensive than usual restaurants but really worth it for the quality of the food and the generous serving size. Plus every of their staffs were really friendly and nice which makes us feels really welcomed!

Wanted to leave after making payment but the assistant manager actually chatted with us like some motivational speaker for 2 whole hours until the dinner crowds started coming in around 7pm! :O

Couldn't give up of not trying out cakes from Boufe Cafe so we decided to walk to the guardhouse to get direction to Boufe!

Reached at 7.15pm and managed to get a table without reservations, lucky!

308 Tanglin Road, Phoenix Park, #01-01
Singapore 247974

Got a table with very low seats so it was slightly comfortable to sit for too long.

Anyway, we ordered 3 of their pastries to try, with a serving of truffles fries which was highly raved about, from Boufe.

Ordered Strawberry Shortcake but it was sold out so they gave us the remaining small slice to try, FOC. Also ordered the tiramisu but was out of stock as well so we replaced it with their chocolate tart and had the popular Citron Tart as well! ^_^

Iced Lychee Tea, $5.50.

Peh wanted a drink so we ordered the Iced Lychee Tea to share! Not too sweet and it's really light and fragrant, wish there's lesser ice though because the drink became really diluted after awhile.

       Strawberry Shortcake.

Usual slice would be $8 each but we got some remaining slice to try! The sponge is really soft and moist but personally, I like Lady M's better because theirs are way more softer and smoother like mousse. Taste wise, it's good, not too sweet and has a little milk taste which was quite fragrant!

Chocolate Tart, $5.50!

Very rich and velvety chocolate filling! Not a fan of chocolate but this is not bad, great for people who love chocolate that aren't too sweet. The raspberries compliment the chocolate tart really well, with its slight sourish taste!

Citron Tart, $5.50!

My favourite of all! The torched meringue adds a little lightly sweet marshmallow-like sweetness to the buttery tart with addictive citron curd which was slightly sour but super addictive! Super recommended!!

Peh likes this too and I even got one more Citron Tart to takeaway and bring it home to let mom try!

 Truffle Fries, $13!

Not sure why we didn't have the dip like some of the pictures that we saw on Instagram but the serving size was huge! Like way too much for 2 person to finish so we only ate like half of it and gave up! All the fries were really crispy but a little hard, does have really thick truffle taste too!

Total bill for our dinner which was mostly desserts was $29.50 because all their prices are nett despite having really nice staffs whom are really friendly and polite!

Additionally takeaway a Citron Tart for mom at $5.50 and bought Peh a Pistachio Macaron at $3.30!

Went out of the cafe at 8.30pm and walked over to the nearest bus stop which wasn't exactly near and took a bus to town!

Went to *Scape for our KTV session at KBOX from 9pm to 11.30pm although we have 3hours of singing session but Peh had to head home early so we decided to leave at 11.30pm!

So long since I last went for KTV and I totally enjoyed it! KBOX have this promotion of $38nett for up to 3paxs so we paid $19 each for 2.5hrs of singing!

Some wefies before we head home because it's been around 3 months since our last meet up!

Took a bus home after that and was feeling so depressed after thinking through some stuffs which the assistant manager spoke to us about, so affected by it till Zav have to keep messaging me from Myanmar to clear my bad thoughts away although he was really tired after working the whole day. So thankful for him who still try his best to be there for me even though he couldn't be here physically, thank you B!

Also very thankful to Peh whom always try her best to understand me then advice or console me whenever needed. So thankful for great people around me after so much bullshits.
