Posted on 19 April 2016 ♥ Decided to head to Batam for my birthday trip as a short getaway because it has been probably half a year since I last went oversea! I miss traveling yet nowadays, I'm too lazy to travel around!07 APRIL 2016! Jio-ed the 2 mothers of ours together with us for this trip and we bought 4 tickets from Deal Ensogo which was only $50 per pax for a 1 night stay at Nagoya Mansion Hotel, Ferry Transfer and Land transfer. Excludes terminal charges and tour guide charge although we picked free and easy tour! We all met up at Harbourfront Ferry Terminal at 8+ in the morning. Checked in and get our ferry ticket before we ate some breakfast at the food court which was on the same level as the departure hall. Zav also changed SGD250 to Rp at Harbourfront as he is the one sponsoring the whole trip! Rate was 1:9500. Wefies with Mummy while waiting for our ferry at 9.30am.   It was a 45minutes ferry ride to Sekupang Ferry Terminal and we reached there before 10am (Batam time). Cleared custom and met up with our tour guide who brought us to our hotel at Batam which was at Nagoya Mansion Hotel, a 45 mins car ride away from the terminal! So happy that the mini bus only had the 4 of us, no other tourists! Reached our hotel at 10.45am (Batam Time) and since our room wasn't ready and we could only checked in after 2pm, we walked over to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall which was like 10-15mins walk away from our hotel. Settled down at Godiva Cafe or something at the Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall food street for our early lunch at 11.15am! Here's the drinks that we ordered!  Zav had the Apple Juice which was really good, very fresh and sweet! Mummy had the Mango drink which was Ice Blended Mango Juice. Mama Soo had the Mango Smoothie because the drink that she wanted wasn't available so Mummy suggested to her. I had the Kiwi Juice which was good as well! Very satisfied with the drinks! And while waiting for the food to come, CynZav's wefie time!  Food was served within 10minutes after ordering.  Chicken Satay - 25 000Rp (SGD2.63) for 10 sticks drizzled with Satay Sauce and Fried Onion which was Zav's favourite! Didn't really like the taste overall so I only ate 2 of it.  Soto Ayam - 10 000Rp (SGD1.05) which both our mothers had a bowl each! It was Bee Hoon instead of the usual Mee, they said it was not bad! Plus, the prices was soooo affordable!  Tenderloin Steak - 130 000Rp (SGD13.68). Shared with Zav since both of us weren't hungry at the point of time so we just order a main to share! Steak was good but I didn't like the sauce but overall, still alright! Bill came up to around 344 000++Rp but we just gave 350 000Rp and forgo the change which was about SGD36.84 for a 4 person meal with drinks, worth it! Walked around the mall to digest and Mummy managed to find herself 2 bags which she likes! Went to the hypermart at probably 1plus PM and we managed to get some drinks and snacks. Spent around 380 000Rp (SGD40) for 3 big bags of stuffs! Bought some fried mushrooms and get a cup of bubble tea each before we took a cab back to the hotel at 50 000Rp (SGD5.26) for the single trip. Checked in and managed to get our 2 rooms at 2.45pm which was a King Sized Bed each, yay! Also one room apart from each others' room!  The room was pretty spacious and the bed was really comfortable! Had a room to myself with Mummy and Zav had a room with Mama. Everyone got some nap while I just nua on the bed while everyone napped. Met at around 6pm and we went to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall again for our dinner at 933!  We ordered 4 dishes since both our moms have really small appetite and we only got a plate of rice to share within the 3 of them since I didn't have any cravings for rice. We had the Butter Crab, Cereal Prawns, Hotplate Tofu and Chili Crab! My favourite was the Butter Crab as the Chili Crab was too spicy for me! We also had a glass of fruit juice each at probably 16 000Rp to 20 000Rp per glass. Very fresh yet really affordable! Bill came up to around 350 000Rp, can't remember the exact amount but it was still quite worth the price even though the crabs were small! Both crabs were really fresh so no complaints! Went to get some breads and I got myself a Crepe since I ate really little for dinner so I was scared to be hungry later in the night. Went back to the hotel around 8pm via a taxi at 50 000Rp and we went back to our respective rooms to bathe etc before Zav and Mama came over to our room at 9pm+ to relax and chat before Mama went back her room at 10+ since she was sleepy already! Zav continued staying in our room and we ordered room service which came at 10.30pm since the 3 of us were getting a little hungry!  We had the Cream of Mushroom which comes with a bun, Fried Kuey Tiao w Seafood which was a tad too spicy for me as well and a Grilled Salmon w Cream Sauce at the side to share! It was around 350 000Rp (SGD36.84) inclusive of the taxes and service charges! Affordable since the food portion were huge and pretty yummy as well! First time in my life ordering room service and so satisfied by it.   Zav also passed me my advanced birthday present which was a huge card because he couldn't bring the gift over to Batam in case it was damaged. Zav stayed in our room till 1+ AM before he head back to his room to sleep. That's how the Day 1 for our Batam Trip went. Posted on 21 March 2016 ♥ Quite a long while since I last posted as for the past 2 weeks, I have always been together with Zav after his surgery while he is on MC.25 FEBRUARY 2016! Lunch with Zav at 3pm at Manna Story (Plaza Sing) after Zav's hospital appointment. Couldn't decides what to eat so we settled down for Korean Cuisine since I was craving for Korean food that period of time.  We ordered the BBQ Beef Set and Pork Bibimbap to share, which also comes with very generous amount of side dishes. The beef was a little too dry and the bibimbap was just really average, nothing really good. Bill came up to around $35 including 2 cups of drink, not expensive but just not worth it either. 27 FEBRUARY 2016! Ordered Pizza for our late lunch x early dinner at 5plus from Pizza Hut! Usually I prefer Domino's but I wanted to try the new Cheesy Pizza from PH thus, we ordered that instead!  Got 2 regular sized Pizza for the 2 of us, my brother and left some for mummy to eat after she end work that night. Both were pretty good, yay!  Also got the beef balls with Alfredo sauce, damn sinful with all the cheese and cream sauce but damn shiok! 02 MARCH 2016! The day for Zav's surgery where we woke up really early and actually took the train from Yishun till Outram Park MRT for his same day admission at SGH. Couldn't get any sleep the night before, call me a worrywart although it wasn't a big surgery but all surgeries have their own risks. After registering, Zav accompanied me to breakfast at 8plus at the foodcourt. Had Mee Rebus but Zav couldn't eat anything as he is supposed to fast 12hrs before surgery. Poor boy! Loitered around the hospital after Zav went for his surgery which ended at 1pm but due to all the staff's miscommunication and all, only managed to see him after his surgery at almost 6pm which I almost K.O from not having any sleep the night before! So glad to see that the surgery went well and he even have the appetite for dinner even though he was hurting from his surgical wound. Shocked but glad. Zav also managed to discharge the next day which was great and since then, we have been spending everyday together till today when he have to go back to work already. 06 MARCH 2016! Went to Causeway Point to get a sewing machine for his Mama but it was OOS so we paid a deposit to pre-order before heading for lunch at almost 12pm at The Chicken Rice Shop at the basement.  Didn't want to eat any rice since I had some food at home before meeting Zav so I ordered the Ipoh Hor Fun in Soup. Pretty bad, just like kueytiao in plain water. Disappointing $10.80++ spent. Zav ordered the Chicken Rice Set with Soy Sauce Chicken and Roasted Chicken! The rice were really fragrant and chicken were not too bad so overall, it was quite good. Bill was $34.85 including 2 drinks and all the service charges etc. Don't expect much for the service there, most staffs have the bochup attitude. Bought some durian puffs from Sunlife after our meal which was really good! 20pcs was only $11 and can totally taste the durian! Head back to Zav's place after that! 07 MARCH 2016! Lunch at Northpoint's Kopitiam before heading to SGH for Zav's post-op appointment.  Korean food for me while Zav had Mixed Veg Rice cause he was lazy to think about what to eat! Dinner after the appointment was at Plaza Sing where we went to Hot Tomato for our dinner at 6pm before the dinner crowd starts!  Cream of Mushoom which came together with my meal upgrade which includes a Lemon Tea as well!  My Spaghetti Alfredo which comes with Chicken Breast and Mushroom! Pretty good, damn creamy and addictive! Very generous amount of mushrooms as well!  Zav's Chicken Chop which came with spaghetti also instead of the usual fries! The Chicken Chop and sauce were really good so it was a satisfying meal! Bill came up to $30+, can't remember the exact amount but it was really affordable since the food were great! Walked over to Dhoby Xchange after that and bought the cheesecakes which I have been wanting to try, from Jara Petit! The staffs were really nice and friendly so Zav bought me 3 at $9.50!  Durian for Zav's Mama, Blueberry for me and Lemon for Zav! The cheesecakes were not bad, slightly on the sweeter side but it was still overall, quite nice! Back to Zav's place after that! 12 MARCH 2016! Our supper at 11.15pm before the stall closed and the uncle specially fry it for us even though he have already cleaned everything! Damn nice!  Our recent craze, Char Kuey Tiao from the coffee shop at Blk 101 Yishun. I think the stall is called Wang Wang Lai or something! Been eating it so often during Zav's 2 weeks MC! 14 MARCH 2016! Our 17th monthsary! Went to Pepper Lunch at Woodland for our lunch at 11am+ because it has been a long while since we last had it! First time to the restaurant outlet as usually we will eat it at the express outlets! Here's our food at 11.30am!  Zav's Cheesy Omelette with Curry Sauce and choice of Chicken Steak! Loves the chicken steak!  My Sizzling Curry Rice w Beef and Hamburger steak! Also added Cheese on the side which I mixed them all together! Damn shiok! Love the curry and the beef! Bill was around $40 or so, not too bad since it was a damn filling meal and cravings satisfied! HEHE! Went to get some durian puffs from Sunlife again after our lunch and also got the Durian Macarons at $2 each! We got 2 to share! ^_^  The shells are a little sweet but the filling was damn gao durian, super worth the money! Went to collect the sewing machine before we took the bus back to Zav's place! Went back to my place at late afternoon and our dinner was homecooked food of Chicken Yakitori and Fish Nuggets! Also a bowl of maggie each, too lazy to head out to buy food yet don't want to keep spending on food delivery! That's how we actually spent our monthsary! 15 MARCH 2016! Decided to go in JB again after a failed trip last week, called mummy along with us! Zav came over to my place at 11plus where we eat some nuggets before heading to Ten Mile Junction to take bus to the checkpoint! It was a freaking hot day and so tough to wait for buses! It was soooooo crowded at the custom that we waited for near to an hour to get our passport chopped, on a weekday! Went for lunch at Kenny Rogers, at 2plus due to all the waits for buses and at the customs! :(  Mummy's Set with 1/4 Chicken, Chicken Soup, Rice and Muffin! The soup were really delicious, yumz!  My set which looks more like Chup Chye Bng, wtf. 1/4 Chicken, Salad, Spaghetti and Muffin (Not in picture). Zav's set only arrives when we asked for it, and also when Mummy and I have already finished our food! Tsk Tsk! Bill came up to RM110 (SGD37.01) including 3 drinks and all extra charges. Was so full after the meal so we went to Watsons to get my toners and Mummy's eye lotion before heading to our favourite bakery, Lavender and get lots of breads! Long queue for it as well! Spent around RM52 (SGD17.50) for 10+ breads! Head to Hui Lau Shan at 3.30pm for Mum's favourite Mango desserts since we didn't want to be stuck in jam which might start from 5+pm!  Had the Durian Ice Cream, Mango Sago and a Mini Platter consisting of the Mango Ice Cream, Mango Dessert w QQ Balls, Mango w Coconut Flesh and Mango Ice Cream! Total came up to less than RM40! Quite worth it since we get to try all sorts of Mango Desserts! Got some snacks and went back SG after that! Reached home at around 6pm+! Posted on 07 November 2015 ♥ Another long while since I last updated this space because most of my free time is either for the B or doing house chores or sleeping.Went for a short getaway last month for our anniversary! 13 October 2015! Went to the B's house to stayover the night before so we could head out together the next day! Woke up at probably 7plus, prepared and went out of Zav's house at 8.30am. Took a bus down to Tampines and we had our breakfast at one of the food court there.  My Minced Meat Mee Pok! $4 but really big serving and very tasty as well! ^-^ Yay!  Zav's Braised Duck Noodle which was quite yummy too! Very full and satisfied from the breakfast we had that was so affordable yet delicious! Took the MRT to Tanah Merah after that so we could take a bus down to the ferry terminal. Kelian de B have to carry our 2D1N stuffs in his big bagpack all alone. Went to collect our ferry tickets and paid for the terminal fee or whatsoever at the counter after we reached the terminal at 10.45am. Got the deal online for $99 per pax for 2D1N stay at Turi Beach Resort, 2 ways ferry tickets and 2 ways land transfer. Also additional $52 in total for the terminal fee etc. While waiting for boarding, some wefies!  
Even bought a Kaya Toast while we waited for our ferry (Batam Fast) which we were be only allowed to board at 11.40am so we eat again while we waited. The ferry staff kept ushering us when we board to the smoking area seats when we don't smoke neither do we enjoy to be breathing all the smoke for an 45mins ride. Fucking stupid so we change our seats back inside and luckily got 2 available seats that were side by side. Got a short nap on the ferry ride although it weren't comfortable at all. Cleared the custom pretty fast in like 10mins since there weren't much people. Got on our land transfer to Turi Beach Resort and the mini bus were so empty that there was only 2 more guys other than us! Yay!

Reached the resort after a 10mins ride and we got our room even though they state that check in time was 2pm (Batam time) but it was 12plus (Batam time) when we reached. Settled our check in and went to our room ourselves.  View was not bad and our room is on the 2nd level but the room wasn't as pretty as the pictures they put online. 被骗 but lucky their bed were really comfy although there was only 2 single beds option available at the point of time. Lighting was good at the balcony but sunlight was too strong that I can't even open my eyes well but still, wefies time!  Went to the lobby which was at the 4th floor for our ride to Nagoya Hill. It was 85,000rp (SGD8.76) each for a 45mins ride, and it was again, only us on the van! Sibei bohua for them but mega yay for us! Reached Nagoya Hill at 1.45pm (Batam time) and we decided to eat first! Tzi Char for lunch from 933 seafood which they have a outlet at Nagoya Hill or else we would have to spend more money and time to travel to their main outlet.  Our drinks came first which Zav had the Fresh Apple juice that were so naturally sweet while I had the Lemon Tea which was good but really sour! And our food came out really fast after our drinks were served, efficiency at its best, YAY!  Chilli Crab which the flesh were so sweet but the sauce were really spicy, 89,000rp (SGD9.18). Freaking $9 only for a crab and even though the size was small, it was really sweet! Hotplate Tofu which I didn't like because there was alot of vegetables that I didn't like, like peas and spring onion etc. Salad Youtiao which were really different from the ones in SG but it was a little salty for me but Zav loves it! Cereal Prawns which we both love because the cereal were so yummy! Super full even though we didn't order any rice and it was 257,000rp (SGD26.50) for 4 dishes and 2 drinks. WOOOHOOO! Went to walk around the mall to digest and also to the arcade because we are young in heart. It was cheap that each game was only like SGD0.20 or so but they allows smoking in the arcade so it was really smoky and smelly in the arcade. Played a few games before we quickly left and head to the supermarket instead! Spent like 30SGD at the supermarket getting weird drinks and snacks. Finally had our first try on ice cream rolls in Yam and Grape flavour!  It was 46,000rp (SG4.75) for both when Zav added M&M to his grape ice cream! Damn affordable but I would prefer usual ice cream though! Went to buy some small snacks for us to eat back at the hotel room before the van came to pick us up at 4.45pm (Batam time). Damn rush but we still managed to have a good meal! Back to the hotel room to put down our stuffs and relax a little in the room! Zav watched the tv while I take pictures of the food as usual!  Bought 2 boxes of these donuts which they claimed it was cronuts but it isn't, just mini donuts at 36,000rp (SGD3.70) for a dozen!  Also bought 2 boxes of Kueh Lapis to bring back home. Bought 2 flavours of the small sized lapis, one in rainbow butter and one in prunes! It was 220,000rp (SGD22.70) for both but it was really yummy and very buttery! Had some snacks like Fried Mushroom, Takoyaki and Fried Chicken from A&W which we dabao from Nagoya Hill for us to eat while we chill in the room! Finished eating and we nuasai till 7pm (Batam time) before we left our room to look for food in the resort but it was so dark with insufficient lighting so we just settled at one of the cafes for a simple dinner! No one brought us in so we have to get a table ourselves and even get the menu ourselves from the counter, wtf. Half the mood gone for dinner! Waited for quite awhile for our food to be served!  Shirley Temple for the B while I had the Pussy Foot, drinks were alright and comes the atrocious food. Signature Ayam Penyet but Chicken was so cold and hard with the beancurd tasting a little sour. Banana Fritters which was not crispy, cold as well, one mouthful and that's it! Dessert was the Es Teler which was very meh but still the best of the 3. Just have a bit of each and that's it, full from the disappointment. It was 459,800rp (SGD47.40) for these kind of shitty food, fucking pissed off and the worst part is when we gave 500,000rp (SGD51.55) cause we thought it was 499,800rp so we said no need for change. Worst meal ever, serious shit! Dampen the mood for the trip for real. -_______________- Went back to our room to bathe before we nua sai with the only good thing from this resort, the bed! No wifi even though their website state free wifi, my fucking ass. Have to head to the lobby if we want to use with the worst internet speed ever or pay for the internet, kns. Worst decision to stay in this Turi Beach Resort! 14 October 2015! Woke up at 7am (Batam time) for the complimentary breakfast since we will be heading back to SG around noon. Breakfast was at the same cafe which we went last night.  Kind of spread we had and nothing tasted good as expected. *shakes head* Ate a little and we went back to the room and sleep till 10.30am (Batam time) where we wake up and bathe then do final packing before we checked out! Had to wait till 1.10pm after we checked out for the transfer to the ferry terminal so it's 1 hr of hell with slowest internet ever and hot weather with us feeding the mosquito. Seriously, first and last time to Turi Resort, worst resort/hotel ever. FUCKING SHIT. Reached the ferry terminal at 1.30pm and we went to get some food because we were hungry! Ordered Mee Goreng and a burger at 80,000rp (SGD8.25), not exactly cheap but seriously simplest yet the most warming food!   Still tasted 10000x more delicious than the food from the resort! Satisfying meal before we waited for our ferry at 2.20pm. 45mins ride and we took the cab back to my place after we reached SG. Unpacked before we decided to have our very simple anniversary dinner at BPP! Settled it at Tonkotsu Kazan and it was a great choice!  We had the Chashu Tonkotsu Ramen and Hotstone Curry Rice w Chicken Karaage! Really delicious and filling, and only $29 including a drink! Woohoo! Happy already! And that's how our 2 days getaway went, not the best travel trip we had but with the best partner that I could ever ask for! It wasn't easy for us to be together for a year since we are both hot tempered and stubborn but I'm glad we both changed for the better, for each other. To many years and more! #CynZav Posted on 21 September 2015 ♥ 23 AUGUST 2015Zav sent me home when I felt better on a Sunday noon, unpacked all my stuffs before we decided to head out for lunch at 3plus in the afternoon.  Had Century Egg w Minced Meat Porridge while Zav had Mixed Veg Rice! Couldn't really finish my bowl of porridge because my tummy kept twitching in pain on and off, very uncomfortable! :( Was supposed to work the next day but took an off day from work instead because I was still not feeling well. Went back to work on 25th, off on 26th and work again on 27th and 28th! 30 AUGUST 2015 Dinner with the B at my house nearby coffee shop where we had Ngoh Hiang and Fried Carrot Cake to share!  Worked the next day and on the first of Sept! 02 SEPTEMBER 2015! Had my off day so dinner with Zav at Fajar after his work! Wanted to try McDonald's new burger but it was only released on 03 Sept so we decided to eat at Koufu instead! Western Cuisine for the night!  I had the Chicken Chop while Zav had the Fish & Chips! Both were surprisingly good since we didn't even plan to have western food! Coleslaw was really nice too, yumz!! Worked the next 2 days and have my weekend off, yay! Zav had 2 days of the weekend free from work too, double yay! 05 SEPTEMBER 2015 Zav came over to my place around 11plus and we head out to take a bus to Woodlands checkpoint together! Plan for the day was head to JB since we miss eating the Salmon Carpaccio and also since the exchange rate was good! Super wrong decision to head there on a weekend, the queue to take the bus to the custom was crazy, super packed like it would take 6-7 buses to fit them all. Decided to walk our way to the immigration which was a pretty crazy idea because the distance is really far and the weather is crazily hot! Managed to reach the immigration after a 30minutes fast walk and we spent almost 2hrs just to wait to chop passport. WTF! Didn't know how we could withstand the long waiting time when both of us hates queuing the most! Reached City Square at 4.45pm where we went to change some money before we went to Dontaku for our brunch at almost 5pm!!!! Service was slightly slow since it seems that they were understaffed but here's the food we got after having a drink each!  Kani Cream Korokke (2pcs), RM12 (SGD4.10)! Very crispy on the outside with crab cream filling and goes really well the sauce drizzled on! Beef Saikoro Steak, RM23 (SGD7.82)! Very flavourful with the amount of garlic given, portion was great and it was really yummy! Pork Steak, RM20 (SGD6.80). Same as the beef, it was served on a hot stone! Comes with a sauce which compliment the meat really well, tender yet very Q! Unagi Roll, RM25 (SGD8.50)! Comes with generous amount of rice. Not a fan of unagi but it was really grilled well and the sauce, I love it! Cha Shu, it was RM3 (SGD1) for 2pcs but not sure why they gave us 3. Oh well! Meat was really tender and juicy, so much better than when we had it previously and the size of the cut was really big as well. YAY! One of our favourite - Volcano Roll, RM16 (SGD5.44), still as good as usual! Very cheesy and sinful but really delicious!  Our favourite Salmon Carpaccio, RM16 (SGD5.44) per serving and we got 3 portions. SO SO SO damn disappointed because it tasted so different than we had it the previous 2 -3 times and we even got 3 portion, boo! Total bill including the service charge and 6% GST was RM185.40 (SGD63)! Most of the food were really good, just very disappointed with the Salmon Carpaccio which we came all the way for! Went to walk around the mall for a bit before we bought some small snacks and went home at 8plus or so. Reached home at almost 10pm, went to Zav's house after putting some stuffs that I bought for mom at home. |
